What's good for the goose...

In a recent Forum post, Harald Ponce de Leon says:

I am doing the best for the team at the moment.
I'd have thought it would be better to always be doing what is best for the Community. Is the Community not important to osCommerce anymore?

New URL: www.osworld.biz - thanks!

IMO, Harald has long since forgotten the community. It can be said that his efforts in the past have been valiant however that committment has fallen to substandard levels in the recent times.

Harald and team have a screw-you-if-you-don't-share-our-views attitude and this is reflected in the way he allows his moderators to police the community forums. He has fostered an elitist attitude among the moderators and this has severely impacted the level of development and quality of contributions. In addition, it is this elitist attitude that drives most of the quality coders to other projects or forks.

...it might even drive a couple to create their own shopping cart application :)

Amen. I couldn't agree more. Too bad I don't have the balls to use my name instead of "anonymous" but I'm already on the sh*t list and don't want to dig myself in any deeper (for now anyway). Thanks for giving us option to remain anonymous.

Anonymous - what's the worst that can happen? You may be banned from the Forum, but is that likely to happen?

I'd say not, as people being banned from the Forum are those who have somehow broken the rules of the Forum. What rules of that Forum can apply to people who post on my blog?

But - you may be right - HPDL has appeared to use personal issues (ie ones that have no link to the Forum) to censor or ban people.

Long live Anonymous :)
